Overview
The CM6511 series are micropower, low-noise, low-dropout negative voltage regulators capable of delivering a 200 mA output current with a typical dropout voltage of 200 mV. They feature a typical quiescent current of 45 μA during operation and 2.6 μA in shutdown mode, making them ideal for battery-powered applications.
These devices provide low output noise performance. With an external 0.01 μF bypass capacitor, output noise can be reduced to 20 μVrms over the 10 Hz to 100 kHz bandwidth. The CM6511 series operates stably with small ceramic capacitors and remains stable with an output capacitance as low as 4.7 μF.
Internal protection circuitry includes current limiting and thermal shutdown.
The series comprises four product variants: the CM6511-5 offers a fixed –5 V output, while the CM6511-SD, CM6511-BYP, and CM6511 support programmable output voltages based on a –1.24 V reference.
The CM6511-5, CM6511-SD, and CM6511-BYP are supplied in a TSOT23-5 package, while the CM6511 is available in a DFN-8 package. All versions are specified for the –40°C to +125°C operating temperature range.
