Perangkat daya MOSFET Trench dengan Gerbang Terlindung (SGT-MOSFET) merupakan versi peningkatan dari MOSFET trench konvensional (U-MOSFET). Dengan memperkenalkan pelat medan polisilikon, kapasitansi Miller (Cgd) berkurang secara signifikan. Selain itu, perangkat ini memanfaatkan efek induksi muatan dari lapisan oksida tebal, sehingga menghasilkan deplesi horizontal di atas deplesi vertikal (sambungan p-body/n-epi) yang terdapat pada MOSFET trench konvensional. Akibatnya, muncul puncak medan listrik baru di dasar trench dalam, yang mengubah distribusi medan listrik di wilayah hanyut dari bentuk segitiga menjadi mendekati persegi panjang. Dengan demikian, resistansi wilayah hanyut berkurang tanpa mengorbankan tegangan tembus yang sama, sehingga menurunkan secara signifikan resistansi on spesifik perangkat.
Rangkaian SGT MOSFET memiliki desain gerbang terlindung trench dan teknologi manufaktur yang dioptimalkan, menawarkan muatan gerbang rendah serta karakteristik pemulihan balik cepat dan lembut.
Rentang tegangan produk berkisar dari 30 V hingga 200 V, mencakup berbagai aplikasi daerah.
