LDO CM6122 20V, 500mA ultra-low noise, ultra-high PSRR linear regulator with VIOC control function

Overview

The CM6122 is a high-performance low-dropout (LDO) linear regulator featuring ultra-low noise and ultra-high PSRR architecture, making it ideal for noise-sensitive applications. The device integrates an on-chip high-precision current reference and high-performance voltage buffer. By using a single external resistor, the output voltage can be set. This architecture also allows multiple devices to be paralleled to further reduce noise, increase output current, and improve thermal dissipation on the PCB. Additionally, the CM6122 integrates VIOC tracking functionality to control upstream switching power supplies, maintaining a constant dropout voltage across the CM6122 to minimize power dissipation.

The CM6122 delivers 500mA output current with a typical dropout voltage of 315mV. The typical quiescent current is 2.7mA during normal operation and 1μA in shutdown mode.

The CM6122 provides stable and excellent performance across a wide output voltage range of 1.7V to 15V. Output noise, PSRR, bandwidth, and load regulation are nearly unaffected by the output voltage. The regulator also features programmable current limit, fast start-up, and a power-good (PG) indicator.

The CM6122 is available in DFN12 3mm × 3mm and DFN12 4.9mm × 4mm (compatible with MSOP12 4.9mm × 4mm) packages, with an operating temperature range of −40°C to +125°C.

Stable operation is achieved with a minimum output ceramic capacitance of 10μF. The device also includes current limit protection and thermal overload protection to ensure system safety.
